Leading Ethereum 2.0 developer Justin Drake announced that he is seeking specialists to support the second version of the protocol. Their remit will cover issues related to network security and its economics.
The Ethereum Foundation is building an internal security team dedicated to Eth2.
Fuzzing, bounty hunting, pager duty, cryptoeconomic modelling, applied cryptanalysis, formal verification—you name it 🙂

The list of tasks for the future team includes fuzz testing, bounty hunting, the development of signalling functions, cryptoeconomics modelling, applied cryptanalysis and formal verification.
Developers are already conducting fuzz testing for ETH 2.0 clients. This area of work is led by the Sigma Prime team, the developer of the Lighthouse client.
As part of the testing, a set of ‘garbage’ data is fed to provoke non-standard responses. This method helps uncover critical vulnerabilities and update the code. It helps prevent potentially catastrophic errors.
The team will also undertake theoretical work on the formal verification of cryptographic algorithms to confirm their security.
Many crypto enthusiasts responded to Ryan’s call and expressed a desire not to miss the “career opportunity of the decade.”

Previously, developers launched two test networks for ETH 2.0 designed to uncover vulnerabilities. Some ‘white-hat’ hackers have already received their rewards.

To launch, the condition to deposit 524,288 test ETH for staking has been met.
The new network will be supported by five clients: Lighthouse, Nimbus, Prysm, Teku and Lodestar.
The Ethereum Foundation and Consensys launched a test version of Launchpad. It is a launch panel to prepare validators for staking in the second version of Ethereum.
