On September 5, a whale who participated in the Ethereum ICO staked 150,000 ETH (approximately $665 million) after four years of inactivity.
通过以太坊 ICO 获得 100 万枚 ETH 的远古巨鲸/机构,在休眠了 4 年之久后,今天醒来把 15 万枚 ETH ($6.46 亿) 存进了以太坊质押。

On-chain data reveals that this major investor acquired 1 million ETH through three addresses during the 2015 initial coin offering.
The last time they moved their assets was in 2021, transferring 55,000 ETH to the Gemini exchange when the coin was valued at $2,500.
The investor still holds 250,000 ETH worth about $1.1 billion, including the assets sent for staking.
Earlier, analysts from Santiment reported that over the past five months, large players have increased their holdings of the second-largest cryptocurrency by 14%, purchasing 5.54 million ETH.
In total, Ethereum whales own 42.5 million ETH valued at $186.4 billion, approximately 35% of the circulating supply.
Meanwhile, another major holder moved part of their bitcoins—479 BTC worth over $54 million.
The whale “awoke” for the first time since 2012, having previously received relatively small amounts of coins at the address.
Previously, Bitcoin Magazine CEO David Bailey accused two whales of “stalling” Bitcoin. The wallets he mentioned sold 80,000 BTC and 120,000 BTC.
