The main feature of the upgrade is to enable withdrawals from Ethereum staking, implemented by EIP-4895. The hard fork includes changes for the consensus layer (Capella) and the execution layer (Shanghai).
After activation in Sepolia, the last step before the mainnet upgrade will be its deployment on the Goerli testnet. These events are planned for March.
For testing of the most significant post-The Merge update in November 2022, developers launched devnet.
In January 2023 they successfully conducted a shadow hard fork to test the impact of the update on the mainnet. In February the team launched the public test network Zhejiang.
As Binance Research notes, only 31% of Ethereum stakers are in the green relative to current market quotes.
