Ethereum Testnet Hoodi Activates Pectra Hard Fork
Ethereum developers have successfully deployed the Pectra update on the Hoodi test network. The team will discuss the upgrade results during the upcoming ACDE Call teleconference.
The hoodi testnet finalized pectra!
The initial testing looks great, however the full suite of validator tests will take atleast a day to complete.

The implementation of the hard fork in the Sepolia (consensus layer) and Holesky (execution layer) testnets led to disruptions. In the former, additional challenges were caused by interference from a malicious actor.
In Holesky, even after the restoration of network functionality, it was impossible to verify Pectra’s functionality regarding validator exits.
Developers deemed it best to create a new long-term testnet to complete the hard fork verification. Hoodi was launched on March 17.
“Each successful implementation in the test network brings us one step closer to the full Petra upgrade on the mainnet,” commented the Nethermind client team.
After a few hiccups with the Holesky and Sepolia hardforks, we’re excited to share that #Hoodi has successfully forked. ?

The deployment of Pectra on the main network may occur no sooner than 30 days from now.
Meanwhile, the Pascal update in the EVM-compatible BNB Chain blockchain has implemented EIP-7702 from the upcoming Ethereum hard fork. The main feature of the improvement is the ability for wallets to temporarily function as smart contracts.
In February, Ethereum developers discussed accelerating network upgrades. The previous Dencun hard fork occurred in April 2024.
