The team behind the Ethereum client Geth, written in Go, has strongly advised validators to update their software to release v1.15.2, codenamed Survivor Loadout.
Urgent Update for Geth Users!
Attention validators! If you are running Geth v1.15.1, upgrade to v1.15.2 immediately to prevent potential financial loss!
A regression in v1.15.1 can cause block creation failures, leading to missed slots.

The upgrade is intended to prevent potential financial losses for users, the developers explained.
The update addresses “several regressions” in version v1.15.1 that could lead to block creation failures on the Ethereum mainnet. As a result, validators potentially lost rewards, including transaction fees, due to missed slots.
Geth dominates the Ethereum execution client segment with a market share of over 51%. Nethermind, written in C#, holds a 26.5% share.
The Geth v1.15.1 release, named Engineering Kit, was made available by developers on February 13. It was included in the client package for testing in the Holesky and Sepolia networks ahead of the Pectra hard fork scheduled for April on the Ethereum mainnet.
Back in late January, the Geth team fixed a vulnerability that allowed an attacker to halt a node’s operation through DoS attacks.
