Ex-OnlyFans executives to launch app for trading NFT cards

Two former OnlyFans executives announced the creation of Zoop, a platform for trading celebrity-image NFT trading cards. reports The Block.

The app is slated for release in the summer of 2022. It will allow users to buy, sell and exchange tokens, and to enter prize draws—offering rewards from free concert tickets to branded merchandise.

It is not yet known whether celebrities will be directly involved in the project.

The Zoop team includes OnlyFans founder Tim Stokly and RJ Phillips who contributed to the platform’s development. According to the latter, the app is being built on the Polygon blockchain, which will guarantee transparency of transactions.

“Users should be able to see who bought what and when the cards were sold,” Phillips said.

Initially, the platform will issue 500 copies of NFTs featuring each celebrity, the list of which will be announced next month. The trading cards will be sold in a Dutch auction. It is also planned to create a native token.

Ahead of launch, the developers will issue a limited number of “priority passes” granting access to exclusive drops.

Users in the United States, the United Kingdom and the EU will be able to pay for the cards with fiat, while others will gain access to the platform via stablecoins.

In February, the OnlyFans subscription service allowed users to set NFTs as profile avatars.

In March, the service took part in an auction selling the Ukrainian flag as an NFT, sending 500 ETH (~$1.41 million).
