Facebook Enhances Profiles and Posts with AI Innovations
Facebook unveils AI features to enrich communication and creativity.
The social network Facebook has unveiled new artificial intelligence-based features. These tools are designed to enrich communication and expand opportunities for users’ creative expression.
We’re introducing new creative features on Facebook powered by Meta AI: animate your profile picture, add an expressive backdrop to your text posts in Feed, and change the aesthetic of your Stories and Memories.https://t.co/FSzrorP6wq

The update includes animated avatars, styling tools for Stories and Memories, and dynamic backgrounds for text posts.
Meta aims to maintain the relevance of its flagship product among younger users. The new features focus on content personalization—a key demand of Generation Z.
The animated photo option adds motion effects to static images, allowing subjects to wave, form a heart, or wear a virtual festive hat. The company recommends using clear portrait photos where the person is looking at the camera.

Images can be uploaded directly from the photo album. Over the year, Meta will add more animation variations.
Facebook has also enhanced Stories and Memories. The former are short photo and video posts that disappear after 24 hours, while the latter replay content from the same date in previous years.
A key innovation is the Restyle feature powered by Meta AI. This tool allows users to alter uploaded photos by adjusting lighting, color schemes, or completely changing the background. To process an image, users can select a preset or enter a text prompt.
Facebook is gradually introducing animated scenes like falling leaves or ocean waves, which can be added to text posts in the feed. Seasonal backgrounds will be available in the future.
The social network has about 2.1 billion daily active users, but in recent years it has faced challenges in attracting and retaining a younger audience.
Back in April 2025, Meta launched a separate app for the Meta AI assistant. The digital assistant was previously available on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger.
