On July 4, the microblogging service became known. The app appeared in the App Store two days later. After that, on Twitter threatened to sue Meta Platforms for using the company’s intellectual property in the new product.

On July 6, unknown individuals hacked Aptos’s Twitter account.

Earlier, the attackers gained control of Circle’s top executive Dante Disparte’s Twitter account and of the Twitter account of The Sandbox metaverse CEO Arthur Madrid.
