Fake video about Binance ‘support program’ for Kazakh residents circulates online

Unknown individuals circulated a video in which it is claimed that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at a meeting with Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, allegedly discussed a ‘support and income-boosting program’ for citizens of the country.

The voiceover in the video says that Binance ‘will trade for you, and you will receive payouts directly to your card’.

The video’s description also states that participants in the program could receive 200,000 tenge weekly. As of writing, the video had more than 600,000 views.

Binance representatives, in a ForkLog comment, stressed that all news and announcements are regularly published on the website and the exchange’s official social-media groups:

“We recommend that all users obtain information only from official Binance sources.”

Earlier in May met with Kazakh authorities, including the president.

During this visit, Binance signed a memorandum of understanding with the country’s Ministry of Digital Development, but there was no talk of any ‘income-boosting program’ for citizens.
