The government of the Indian state of Maharashtra entered into a collaboration with blockchain startup LegitDoc to curb fraud in education. Educational institutions have begun issuing diplomas secured against unauthorised access.
Data in the single blockchain-based system is tamper-proof. Each diploma will be endorsed by the Ministry of Education of India, guaranteeing its authenticity. LegitDoc first converts the certificate into PDF format, after which it attaches a unique code that is uploaded to the blockchain.
The startup is in talks with authorities in other Indian states to roll out similar solutions.
MG unveils blockchain-based digital passport for cars
British automaker MG, owned by Chinese carmaker SAIC, plans to use blockchain to record driving information in the digital passport of its new SUV, the MG Astor. This is reported by LiveMint.
As part of the project, the company has already partnered with Indian blockchain firm Koinearth. Under the idea, driving data on the blockchain will affect insurance costs and the valuation of a used car before sale.
The digital passport will provide vehicle identification, helping to prevent odometer fraud, concealment of accidents, and other information.
Audius blockchain service and TikTok will develop anti-piracy functionality
The music streaming blockchain service Audius has formed a partnership with TikTok to address the issue of shrinking earnings for performers. The platform plans to pay artists for each play of their song. This is reported by CNBC.
To implement the initiative, Audius will need to develop functionality that blocks the use of pirated music. The blockchain will secure copyrights and automatically track every use of a track.
