Filecoin team launches a decentralized alternative to AWS, Google Cloud and Azure
A decentralized alternative to cloud services AWS, Google Cloud and Azure has appeared in the Filecoin ecosystem — Filecoin Web Services (FWS).
Filecoin Web Services (FWS) launched this week to build an open-source alternative to AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. ?
FWS is a stack of compute, storage, and networking services that developers can use to build decentralized applications.https://t.co/kutvMbo8Li

According to the statement, FWS comprises a technological set of components such as compute and networking resources, as well as storage, that developers can use to build dapps.
“The FWS components are designed to be scalable, flexible and secure, making the offering suitable for a wide range of use cases,” the Filecoin project team said.
The solution includes:
- Estuary Node — storage node;
- Delta Technology Stack — a tooling stack for creating and managing storage deals;
- Delta Dataset Manager — a broker for concluding deals involving large data volumes off-bandwidth;
- Delta Importer — for automating the import of information from the filesystem;
- a dedicated Edge-UR node, which simplifies uploading and retrieving data;
- Ptolemy — a mechanism for processing large data sets;
- the FWI web infrastructure, which can also be used to build your own analogues.
“We understand that cloud technologies offer excellent opportunities for developers, and we aim to deliver their benefits alongside the transparency and incentives that decentralised networks can provide,” said the Filecoin developers.
Earlier in March, the project team implemented the ability to deploy smart contracts on the mainnet, ensuring compatibility with EVM.
