Flashbots unveils solution to broaden MEV opportunities for users

The Flashbots organization has developed the MEV-Share protocol, which broadens Ethereum users’ ability to participate in ‘maximally extractable value’ (MEV).

Introducing MEV-Share: programmably private orderflow that empowers users, redistributes MEV, and takes a step towards decentralized block building

According to Flashbots’ head of product development, Rob Miller, MEV-Share is based on the MEV-Boost solution but leads to further separation of the transaction supply chain.

«В то время как MEV-Boost обеспечивает сотрудничество между валидаторами и строителями [блоков], MEV-Share делает то же самое для искателей и пользователей, позволяя последним получать оплату за свои транзакции», — добавил Миллер.

In the current setup, searchers locate MEV opportunities and send bundles of similar transactions to block builders. The latter assemble the order of operations and pass blocks to validators for confirmation.

To include users in this chain, Flashbots developers have introduced a new system — Matchmaker (the matchmaker). This mechanism pairs searcher bundles with user transactions.

Block builders receive these bundles on the condition that a portion of the MEV revenue is returned to the user.

The team said that the ‘Matchmaker’ would ensure user confidentiality, allowing users to choose what data to share with the system.

Developers believe MEV-Share will benefit searchers by providing access to new transactions and to block builders through a greater flow of orders.

As reported in January, media said that Flashbots was in talks with investors to raise up to $50 million at a $1 billion valuation.
