Forbes names 400 richest US billionaires. Among them seven cryptocurrency-industry figures.

Forbes has released its annual ranking of the 400 richest billionaires in the United States.

A total of seven representatives of the cryptocurrency industry made the list. The top among them was FTX chief Sam Bankman-Fried with a fortune of $22.5 billion (32nd in the overall ranking). He also became the youngest participant on the list.

At the top of the list was Amazon founder Jeff Bezos with a fortune of $201 billion, in second place Tesla and SpaceX head Elon Musk with $190.5 billion, and in third place Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg with $134.5 billion.

The combined net worth of the 400 richest Americans rose by 40% over the past year to $4.5 trillion. Almost all participants on the list were richer than a year ago, Forbes noted.

Asset prices and exchange rates as of September 3, 2021 were used in the calculations.

Earlier in April, 12 representatives of the cryptocurrency industry entered Forbes’ list of the world’s richest people. At that time, among the figures on the list, Sam Bankman-Fried also led.
