Forte raises $725 million from a16z, Solana Ventures and others

Forte, a provider of blockchain solutions for game publishers, has raised $725 million in a Series B funding round.

The round included Sea Capital, Kora Management, Andreessen Horowitz, Tiger Global, Solana Ventures, Polygon Studios, Cosmos, Animoca Brands and Warner Music Group.

The funds will be used to expand services and move beyond the testing phase. At the time of writing, the platform is invitation-only.

According to the press release, the startup is working with more than 40 game developers. Forte helps them integrate blockchain technology and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

In May, the firm raised $185 million in a Series A round led by Griffin Gaming Partners. Thus, by 2021, Forte’s funding exceeded $900 million.

Earlier in November, Mythical Games raised $150 million at a $1.25 billion valuation.

Earlier, the Hong Kong gaming platform The Sandbox closed a financing round of $93 million.
