On Tuesday, December 20, an unknown purchased an anonymous number +888 8 888 on the Fragment blockchain platform for 300 000 TON (more than $730 000 at the rate at the time of the deal).

The lot became the most expensive on the platform since its launch on October 27. The previous record belonged to the number +888 0123 4567 — 30 211 TON (about $74,000).

Fragment was originally created for selling account identifiers. In early November on the platform they bought the first username — Telegram — @auto. Its value amounted to 900 000 TON (about $1.4 million).

On December 6, the messenger added the ability to register using an anonymous number instead of a SIM card. Telegram’s team described the move as “a new era of privacy”.

Last week, Toncoin (TON) rose 20% in 24 hours and reached $2.85.

Earlier Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced a non-custodial wallet and decentralised apps, including DEX, from the Telegram team.
