Unknown criminals, posing as ForkLog staff, are offering users to invest in a fake trading platform. One of the victims told the editors on condition of anonymity.
The Crypto Solutions platform allegedly offers asset management and cryptocurrency trading services.
The scheme’s creators search for potential victims on various cryptocurrency forums. They then offer to follow the link «Earnings with an Analyst» and leave a Skype nickname. To bolster credibility, they present themselves as active ForkLog staff:
“They showed that they work at your magazine and that they also trade. I looked through your magazine—it’s good, no bad reviews online, and I believed them. They registered me on the platform via Skype. I know the password; only I know it. I didn’t find any Google reviews about this platform either, which is also strange,” the victim said.
After the initial investment of 30,000 rubles, the Crypto Solutions staff began urging the user to contribute additional funds.
“The push to increase the deposit began, claiming that there is a good investment plan and that we’d earn as much as 80%. Doubts began. I looked up reviews on Yandex and realized I had fallen for a scam.”
Currently, according to the victim, platform support is unresponsive; funds are debited from the account when attempting to withdraw, but are not actually withdrawn.
The scam firm’s site claims alleged partnerships with Coinbase exchange, the Etherscan reviewer, and the CryptoCompare platform.
The contact phone number of a Crypto Solutions employee received 21 negative comments on a telephone-number review service. Most users reported telephone fraud and attempts to push financial services, including those related to cryptocurrency.

Earlier, scammers have repeatedly used the ForkLog brand to deceive readers. In February 2020 we reported that unknown actors created the Telegram group ForkLog OTC, in which funds were siphoned off under the guise of cryptocurrency trading.
In May 2018, scammers, via a “copy” of the ForkLog site, sought to profit from the hype around the TON project ICO conducted by Telegram founder Pavel Durov.
