According to preliminary information, in the evening two men in black leather jackets met the victim near his home. They identified themselves as FSB officers and placed him in a Mercedes.
In the car, the Saint Petersburg resident was beaten and 110,000 rubles in cash were taken from him. Using the victim’s mobile phone, the attackers also transferred 3,800 units of an unnamed cryptocurrency to their wallets.
They then drove him to a local shopping centre and dumped him from the car, the victim said.
The total loss was valued at 535,000 rubles.
A criminal case has been opened in connection with the robbery.
Earlier in December 2021, a Saint Petersburg court sentenced two locals to nine and seven years in prison for kidnapping cryptocurrency worth 55 million rubles under the guise of FSB officers.
