FTX CEO signs up to Buffett–Gates philanthropic pledge

FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried has joined The Giving Pledge, the philanthropic campaign launched by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

The Giving Pledge is widely regarded as a public commitment by the world’s wealthy individuals and families to give the majority of their wealth to charity. Donations can be made either during the giver’s lifetime or after death.

\n\n

The FTX chief said he believed it was his duty to do everything possible to improve the world in the long run.

\n\n

In 2018, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong took the Giving Pledge.

\n\n

Earlier in May, Sam Bankman-Fried entered the TIME 100 list of the most influential people of 2022 according to Time magazine. He also ranked first among crypto-industry figures listed in Forbes’ 400 richest Americans.
