According to FTX Chief Executive John Ray, this became possible after the court approved part of the motions concerning global cash management.
FTX Group obtained the ability to pay sellers and service providers in the ordinary course for all services provided as of the petition date and in the period after it.
In the Bahamas, this court relief applies only to FTX employees, contractors or debtors, but not to employees or contractors of FTX Digital Markets Ltd. The latter is the subject of local insolvency proceeding.
The resumption of payments also does not apply to employees or contractors of FTX Australia Pty Limited and FTX Express Pty Ltd, which are the subject of a separate court proceeding in Australia.
