The Bitcoin exchange FTX signed a ten-year contract with the California Golden Bears baseball club to rename the Cal Memorial stadium. Bloomberg reports.
The venue has been named FTX Field. The deal is valued at $17.5 million. Payment will be made in cryptocurrency.
The father of the founder and CEO of the Bitcoin exchange is a UC Berkeley alumnus, the university represented by the California Golden Bears.
FTX’s chief operating officer Sina Nader played for the club in college.
Earlier in March, the bitcoin exchange signed a partnership with the NBA’s Miami Heat to rename their stadium to FTX Arena.
In June the company signed a five-year contract with Major League Baseball, under which the FTX.US logo will appear on the uniforms of league umpires.
In August, FTX entered into a seven-year agreement with Riot Games granting the right to display its brand during the League of Legends seasonal tournament.
