The project plans to release 3,003 non-fungible tokens, in addition to the main track, featuring works inspired by the renowned musician. Sales, timed for the 40th anniversary of the song’s release, are scheduled for 14 April.
NFTs will be available for purchase on a “pay what you want” basis, with the initial proceeds from sales going to support the MusiCares charity organization.
The initiative is carried out in collaboration with music producer Larry Dwoskin and the Warner Chappell Music label.
As reported, in February the streaming music service Spotify began testing a playlist service accessible via NFT wallets.
In the same month, the Web3-startup Arpeggi Labs announced plans to raise $11 million to develop a free platform for creating and publishing tracks in the non-fungible token format.
