Gaming guild The Club buys Star Atlas NFT ships for $3 million in USDC
The Club gaming guild invested $3 million in USDC in Star Atlas NFT project’s in-game ships. ForkLog was told by representatives of the guild.
According to them, the previous record belonged to Axie Infinity ($1.5 million). The Club purchased support ships of various levels, as well as a fleet of 12 command flagships at an estimated price of $80,000–$100,000 per unit.
This purchase will enable the largest guild in the Star Atlas metaverse to strengthen its influence, as well as boost internal social interaction and simplify new players’ access to the forthcoming scholarship program.
Star Atlas is a multiplayer science-fiction strategy game that runs on the Unreal Engine 5 game engine and the Solana blockchain. The ATLAS tokens serve as in-game currency, while POLIS is used to govern the Star Atlas DAO.
The events unfold in a spacefaring metaverse in the year 2620. Players can join one of three factions that vie with one another for resources, territory and political influence.
Earlier in November, Solana Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners and FTX announced the creation of a $100 million fund to invest in blockchain-game startups.
