The joint programme by the two giants aims to expand capabilities and scale startups in the realms of metaverses and Web3. The projects receive commercial, technological and expert support.
Gamium is developing an interoperable identity protocol for virtual spaces and the financial world.
Following the announcement of the collaboration with Meta and Telefónica, the GMM token rose from around $0.0006 to $0.0045 — about 650% (KuCoin). After a correction, the asset trades near $0.023. The coin’s market capitalization stands at around $49.5 million.
Telefónica participates in the initiative via its technology-innovation unit Wayra.
In September 2022, the Spanish telecommunications giant Telefónica allowed customers of its online store pay for purchases with cryptocurrencies.
The option is implemented in collaboration with licensed digital asset exchange Bit2Me.
