Gas DAO announces GAS airdrop; native token falls 70%

The Gas DAO project announced the launch of the native GAS token and a 55% emission airdrop for users who spent more than $1,559 on Ethereum transaction fees.

A total of 634,429 wallets were selected for distribution. A snapshot was taken on December 26. Tokens can be claimed in the airdrop until May 1, 2022. Unclaimed GAS will be sent to the project9s treasury.

Gas DAO allocated the tokens as follows:

• 55% — airdrop;
• 30% — project treasury;
• 15% — reserve for the 25 main participants.

The minimum amount spent on fees of $1,559 to participate in the airdrop was tied to the Ethereum network upgrade EIP-1559, which began burning ETH in transactions.

Investors are actively dumping GAS. According to CoinGecko, the project s native token price fell 71.2% over 24 hours—from $0.00054980 to $0.00015855.

Back in December, the OpenDAO project conducted an SOS token airdrop for OpenSea NFT marketplace users.
