Gemini Chatbot Learns to Remember User Information
Google has trained its Gemini chatbot to retain contextual information about users’ lives, interests, and preferences.
Rolling out starting today, you can ask Gemini Advanced to remember your interests and preferences for more helpful, relevant responses. Easily view, edit, or delete any information you’ve shared, and see when it’s used.

Users can now inform the AI about their favorite products, enabling the bot to offer restaurant recommendations tailored to their tastes.
The memory feature is available to paid subscribers in the web version in English. It is not yet available on iOS and Android.
Google provided examples of prompts users can set when interacting with the chatbot:
- “use simple language and avoid jargon”;
- “I can only work with JavaScript code”;
- “include the cost per day when planning a trip”.
The stored information is not shared with the corporation and is not used for training the neural network, emphasized a company representative.
Previously, Gemini had controversially suggested a user should die.
Earlier, Google has been developing AI technology capable of independently performing tasks in a web browser, such as searching for information, making purchases, or booking flights.
