Gitcoin integrates Tezos blockchain and launches hackathon

The Gitcoin platform, which funds open-source blockchain projects to build the infrastructure of a Web 3.0 internet, has integrated the Tezos network, ForkLog has learned from its representatives.

The integration will give nascent projects on the platform a head start, including infrastructure and applications that support the Tezos ecosystem, according to the statement.

On 21 July 2021, the platform will begin the NFT Me, You Can DAO It hackathon with a prize pool of $75,000 in Tezos tokens (XTZ), to be distributed among 10 winners.

The month-long event is designed to attract open-source protocol developers to participate in expanding the Tezos-based NFT and DAO ecosystems.

Over the next two years, Gitcoin plans to host eight Tezos-focused hackathons.

Gitcoin counts more than 300,000 active developers and nearly 2,000 projects in its community, funded to around $25 million.

In May 2021, Tezos developers activated a protocol update called Florence.
