There are approximately 617 million cryptocurrency holders worldwide, with 30-60 million active monthly users, excluding bots and temporary addresses. These figures are detailed in the a16z crypto report.
In other words, only 5-10% of users can be considered active, highlighting significant opportunities to engage passive cryptocurrency holders.

At its peak in September, MAU “unfiltered” reached 220 million, tripling the figure from the end of 2023.
The majority of activity is concentrated on:
- Solana (100 million active addresses);
- NEAR (31 million);
- Base (22 million);
- TRON (14 million);
- Bitcoin (11 million).
Among EVM networks, BNB (10 million) ranked second after Base, with Ethereum (6 million) in third place.
The number of active mobile wallet users has increased to 29 million. The United States accounts for 12% of this total. This share is declining partly due to developers’ efforts to exclude the country for regulatory reasons. Positive growth is observed in Nigeria, India, and Argentina.
Earlier, Tether reported that the stablecoin USDT is used by 330 million cryptocurrency wallets and on-chain accounts.
