Golden Bored Ape NFT sold for $1.5 million

Collector Vis.eth bought the golden NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) #5383 for 777 ETH ($1,5 млн).

The previous owner bought it on August 1, 2021 for $242,000. Thus, his profit on the deal amounted to about 682 ETH ($1.2 million).

Vis.eth told Bored Ape Gazette in a comment that he decided to buy the “golden ape” because such a colorway is considered rare. According to data provider Rarity Tools, #5383 is 320th in rarity among an NFT collection of 10,000.

“777 ETH is a fair price. Yuga will become the first successful social universe,” the investor added.

Over the past few months, Vis.eth has spent millions on Yuga Labs’ Otherdeeds metaverse. Two of his wallets currently hold more than 60 NFTs from the project.

Although the purchase of #5383 took place during a period of a decline in NFT market trading volumes, it was not a record. In July 2021, Bored Ape #3749 sold for $2.9 million.

As a rule, BAYC NFTs sell for considerably less. According to CryptoSlam, the average sale price over the past seven days is around $195,000 with a floor of 72 ETH.

In early August, the Italian fashion house Gucci added support for ApeCoin.
