Goldman Sachs began experiments in real asset tokenisation. This was stated by Matthew McDermott, head of the bank’s digital division, according to CoinDesk.
“We are studying NFTs in the context of financial instruments. We are working on a whole range of things,” he said.

In 2021, Goldman Sachs offered clients trading futures and options on Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The bank also launched non-deliverable forwards on Bitcoin, settled in fiat.
In March 2022, Bloomberg reported that Goldman Sachs was considering offering over-the-counter bilateral cryptocurrency options.

The potential of this market was also noted by Bank of America, Citibank and JPMorgan. The latter, in February 2022, opened a representative office of the Onyx blockchain platform in Decentraland.
