Google Cloud to Back the Development of the Celo Ecosystem

Google Cloud and the Celo Foundation have agreed to collaborate to support Web3 startups. Teams of specialists will have access to Google Cloud credits and the Google Firebase mobile development platform.

The goal of the partnership is to improve the Celo blockchain infrastructure and develop the ecosystem of dapps.

Google Firebase provides a range of tools and services, including authentication, real-time databases, cloud storage, and messaging.

Google Cloud will offer mentors and guidance to participants in the Founders in Residence program from the Celo Foundation. Experts from the unit will participate in the Celo Camp accelerator, which supports entrepreneurs building sustainable-development-focused startups.

The organisations also plan to host targeted seminars and events.

Celo is positioned as a “mobile-first” and “carbon-negative” EVM-compatible blockchain.

According to the developers, the network has gained recognition as a leader in ReFi. The platform offers a wide range of more than 1,000 dapps in over 150 countries.

In July 2022, developersdeployed Uniswap v3 smart contracts on the Celo network. The initiative envisages the creation of liquidity pools of ‘green assets’ from Celo, such as tokenized carbon credits.
