Google Enhances AI Mode with New Booking Features

Google has introduced new features in its AI Mode, enabling assistance with booking event tickets and scheduling beauty appointments. These are available to Search Labs subscribers in the United States, reports TechCrunch.

Users can prompt the system with requests such as:

“Find me two cheap tickets for the upcoming Shaboozey concert. Standing room preferred.”

AI Mode will search multiple websites in real-time to find suitable options. It will then provide a list of choices and redirect users to the booking page to complete the purchase.

Subscribers to Google AI Pro and Ultra have access to increased limits.

“Our priority at Google Search is to provide you with high-quality, reliable information. The new mode is based on our core quality and safety systems, but it is still in an early experimental stage and may make mistakes,” states the Search Labs page.

AI Mode — introduced in March — allows users to ask complex questions for in-depth exploration directly in Google Search. It processes multiple interrelated queries from different sources, structuring information into a single, coherent response.

The AI Mode is regularly updated with new capabilities. In August, the company added agentic functions, allowing users to book restaurant tables.

The service enables requests based on various preferences: party size, date, time, location, and favorite cuisine. The tool analyzes real-time availability and suggests suitable options.

Browsers: The Battleground for Attention

Browsers and search engines — the primary tools for internet access — are becoming key services for AI updates.

In September, Google announced a major enhancement to Chrome through Gemini integration. Users gained the ability to ask a chatbot to analyze web page content, manage multiple tabs, or perform more actions within one tab — such as scheduling a meeting or finding a YouTube video.

Competitors are not idle. Apple plans to launch its own neural network-based web search, integrated into the Siri voice assistant.

In August, Anthropic introduced an extension in Chrome for the AI agent Claude, and a month earlier, Perplexity launched its own AI-based browser — Comet.

OpenAI has also developed its own search engine and web browser Atlas.

Back in November, Amazon demanded that Perplexity remove the browser with an integrated AI agent from its online store.
