Google Expands AI Mode to 180 Countries

Google has announced the global expansion of AI Mode, a search feature that allows users to ask complex and clarifying questions for a deeper exploration of topics. Additionally, the tool now includes agentic and personalized capabilities.

AI Mode has been launched in 180 countries in English. Previously, it was available in the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. Support for additional languages and regions is promised soon.

Regarding agentic functions, users can now use the service to book restaurant tables. Future updates will include support for local service appointments and event ticket purchases.

AI Mode allows users to tailor their queries based on preferences such as party size, date, time, location, and favorite cuisine. The tool will analyze real-time availability and suggest suitable options.

“AI Mode will do all the preparatory work and immediately provide a link to the booking page, so you can easily take the final step and confirm the reservation,” the company announcement states.

This feature is being rolled out to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S. as part of a Labs experiment called Agentic capabilities in AI Mode.

In the same test mode, a search adapted to individual interests is available. For instance, a user might ask, “I only have an hour, need a quick lunch option, any suggestions?” AI Mode will consider previous dialogues, searched locations, and Maps data to offer suitable options.

The AI can rely on user preferences: if someone enjoys Italian cuisine and venues with outdoor terraces, the service will suggest corresponding options.

Personalization settings can be adjusted in the options section.

AI Mode now supports sharing search results with other users. This can be useful for planning trips, joint celebrations, and other occasions.

In August, Google released a series of Pixel 10 smartphones, focusing on artificial intelligence technologies.
