Hacked KuCoin resumes Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT deposits and withdrawals
On Wednesday, 7 October, the KuCoin cryptocurrency exchange resumed accepting deposits and withdrawals in Bitcoin, Ethereum and the Tether stablecoin (USDT), bolstering wallet security.
According to сообщению, addresses for the aforementioned assets have been updated. The old addresses remain available, but users are advised to change them.
For USDT deposits and withdrawals at this stage, only ERC-20 tokens are available. The Tron and EOS blockchain versions only support deposits, and operations with OMNI-USDT are not yet available.
Earlier this weekend, KuCoin CEO Johnny Lyu stated that the exchange identified suspects in the recent hack of the platform and the theft of about $280 million.
He said that, with the help of partners, they managed to secure an additional $64 million that were held at the attackers’ addresses.
