Officers from the NFIB, a police unit in the United Kingdom, reported the blocking of 43 fake domains associated with phishing activities.
Among these, law enforcement identified a counterfeit email address purportedly belonging to the cryptocurrency exchange Blockchain.com. This was used by criminals to contact platform users.
NFIB did not specify how many of the exchange’s clients fell victim to the phishers.
Other blocked domains include “actionfraud.info” and “department-fraud.com”, which mimic government portals for tracking cyber fraud.
Earlier, ForkLog reported that nearly 1500 phishing domains related to cryptocurrency investments were registered in the Russian-speaking internet in 2023. Some of these referenced exchanges like Binance and CommEX.
