Hackers hijacked Vitalik Buterin’s X account
Hackers hacked Vitalik Buterin’s X account, Ethereum co-founder, his father Dmitry Buterin said.

“Ignore this post. Apparently, Vitalik was hacked. He is working on restoring access,” he noted.
The post has now been removed. Presumably, the Ethereum co-founder has regained access to the profile. As of this writing, he has not commented on the incident.
The scam post offered a commemorative NFT in honor of the arrival Proto-Danksharding in Ethereum. The option increases blockchain throughput and reduces gas fees for L2 solutions based on Rollups technology.
According to blockchain analyst ZachXBT, the damage amounts to more than $691,000.

Among the stolen NFTs are CryptoPunk #3983 valued at 153.62 ETH (about $250 000 at the rate at the time of writing) and CryptoPunk #1751 for 58.18 ETH (~$95 000).

The user under the alias BokkyPooBah рассказал, that this was him who lost two CryptoPunk NFTs.
In July, hackers hacked X-account of Uniswap founder Hayden Adams.
Earlier, attackers attacked the profile of Circle’s chief strategy officer Dante Disparte to promote a fake airdrop.
Back in December 2022, unknown attackers hijacked the X account of Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary to promote a Bitcoin giveaway scam.
In early 2023, attackers obtained control over the Robinhood profile on social media to promote the fraudulent RBH token on the BNB Chain.
