Hackers Leak Solana Co-Founder’s Data on Migos’ Instagram

Solana co-founder Raj Gokal has fallen victim to a data breach, with hackers posting his confidential information on the Instagram page of the hip-hop group Migos, which boasts 13 million followers, according to The Block.

The Web3 entrepreneur may have been subjected to extortion prior to the data release. The hacker included a link to a Telegram group chat and urged participants to “spam” the Solana co-founder.

“You should have paid 40 BTC ($4.36 million),” one message read.

The account featured seven images, including selfies of Gokal with his driver’s license and passport, as well as, presumably, his spouse with her driver’s license.

Another post revealed personal details of the Solana co-founder, including his phone number.

The Instagram posts remained online for over an hour after being uploaded.

On May 21, Gokal wrote on X that over the past week, attackers had attempted to gain control of his email, social media, Google, Apple, and other accounts.

Numerous social media accounts of celebrities and influencers have been hacked, often used to promote fake cryptocurrency schemes and deceive followers.

Back in April, Manta Network co-founder Kenny Li disclosed details of a hacking attempt via Zoom, allegedly orchestrated by the North Korean hacker group Lazarus Group.

In March, the latter attacked Emblem Vault’s NFT platform head Jake Gallen through this application, reportedly extracting “tens of millions of dollars,” according to media reports.
