Hackers breached PwC Venezuela’s Twitter-аккаунт to promote a fake XRP giveaway on behalf of Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse.
Eight hours after the incident, administrators managed to regain access to the page and remove the phishing links.
According to The Block, during that period the hackers posted 14 such posts.
As of writing, the latest post is dated September 2. The account has 37,100 followers.
In April 2020, Ripple and Garlinghouse filed a lawsuit against YouTube. They accused the platform of reputational damage due to its inaction toward scammers promoting fake XRP token giveaways on their behalf.
Recently Garlinghouse refuted CryptoLeaks’ claims of an alleged collaboration between him and the law firm Roche Freedman to fund a campaign against competitors.
