Hints of Video Generation Feature Found in Google’s Gemini Update

Indications of an upcoming feature for video generation via the AI assistant Gemini have surfaced in the Google mobile app. This was noted by experts at Android Authority. 

The update v16.6.23 includes files whose names reference the code name Gemini within the Google app — robin — and allude to the video generation process. Experts also discovered text strings for displaying processing status.

They believe developers are preparing new functionality for Gemini similar to the capabilities of the online editor Google Vids, where AI assists in video creation but does not directly generate it.

In February, Google introduced the flagship AI model Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental.
