Hong Kong Stock Exchange to launch platform for trading security tokens

Representatives of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange announced the launch of a platform for trading tokenized assets named Diamond. This was reported by местные СМИ.

In the trading service, smart contracts, blockchain and cloud computing technologies will be used, enabling it to operate around the clock.

In the first phase, ESG products will be traded on the exchange. Cryptocurrency support is not planned at launch.

The exchange representative Сю Йинин noted that investments in ESG areas, such as carbon credits, attract close attention. According to her assessment, by 2030 the total value of the tokenized assets market will reach $60-100 trillion.

Back in December 2021, the largest stock exchange in Latin America, B3 announced the listing of cryptocurrency products.
