The privacy-focused blockchain Horizen announced the hard fork date on the mainnet — June 7.
The update will occur on block #1,363,115 at approximately 16:00 (Kyiv/Moscow time). On March 13, the hard fork was successfully activated on the project’s testnet.
The developers noted that the Zend node router 3.3.1 will stop being supported from May 31. Its fourth version will be available until September 19.
The update will bring improvements to Horizen’s sidechain technology and fix minor bugs found in the protocol. Developer tools across different operating systems will also be enhanced.
Horizen is a blockchain ecosystem that uses zero-knowledge proofs technology. The project aims to create sidechains with customizable functionality, for example, exclusively for DeFi protocols.
According to CoinGecko, the project’s native token ZEN rose 6.7% over the past week. At the time of writing, the asset was trading at $8.60.
Earlier, Grayscale Investments concluded that the Horizen token, alongside Zcash (ZEC) and Stellar (XLM), may be classified as a security.
