Canadian mining company Hut 8 Mining has signed an agreement with TAAL to host and acquire 960 Whatsminer M31S+ miners from MicroBT. This is stated in a press release.
The bitcoin mining equipment is operated in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. The deal will increase Hut 8’s hashrate by 81 PH/s, to 2.62 EH/s.
The agreement takes effect on 1 May.
As of 31 December, the firm’s hashrate stood at 2 EH/s.
Earlier, Arcane Research forecasted growth in hash rate share and in bitcoins on the balance sheets of U.S. and Canadian publicly listed mining companies.
Earlier, in 2021, Canadian Hut 8 Mining mined 2,786 BTC and increased revenue by 327%, to CAD 173.8 million.
