By 2025, Hyundai will invest $5 billion in the development of autonomous electric vehicles, robotics and artificial intelligence in the United States. This is according to CNBC.

Part of the funds will go to supporting Boston Dynamics, acquired by Hyundai in 2021. The automaker said it remained committed to developing the robotics firm by expanding its production capabilities and product range.

Hyundai also announced continued support for Motional, the Boston-based autonomous-vehicle subsidiary. The company plans to make autonomous technologies safer and more accessible to customers in the United States and in other countries.

In addition, the automaker will allocate an additional $5.54 billion to build an electric-vehicle factory in the U.S. state of Georgia, which will produce 300,000 cars a year.

Construction of the facility is set to begin in 2023.

Earlier in May, Hyundai announced the four-legged Elevate vehicle.

In April, hydrogen-powered autonomous buses were launched in South Korea. The vehicles were developed by Hyundai Motor and Hyundai Mobis.
