In the Novosibirsk region, police officers, in collaboration with energy specialists, have shut down an illegal mining farm comprising 100 devices. This was reported by AO “RES”.
The equipment was located in a building that once served as a boiler house in the settlement of Chernorechensky, near Iskitim. In addition to the connected ASIC miners, there were also unpacked devices on site.
Preliminary estimates suggest that the unauthorized connection of this farm to the power grid caused damage amounting to several million rubles.
The ASIC miners were confiscated from the scene of the crime.
Authorities are considering initiating a criminal case for causing significant property damage. The suspects face up to five years in prison.
Earlier, ForkLog reported that Russian energy specialists discovered illegal mining farms in an underground parking area and a gardening cooperative in Dagestan, as well as in an unfinished house in the Irkutsk region.
