
Illegally connected mining farm found near Moscow
Employees of the Rosseti Moscow Region branch discovered a mining farm near Istra with signs of illegal energy consumption.
According to the company, a container housing equipment for cryptocurrency mining was located in a utility outbuilding attached to a village cafe.
Experts suspected tampering with two electric meters.
Mining equipment and the meters have been seized for a technical examination.
At the end of January, Rosseti staff disconnected 50 mining servers in the north of Moscow. According to preliminary measurements, the equipment’s power consumption amounted to 130 kW.
