Illegally connected Moscow mining farm consumed electricity worth 500,000 rubles a day

Moscow law enforcement, together with customs officers, uncovered electricity theft at the Rosseti company for cryptocurrency mining. The disclosure was made by Ekaterina Korotkova, a representative of the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor’s Office, according to ТАСС.

The mining equipment was illegally connected to a line owned by PJSC Rosseti Moscow Region. The amount of electricity consumed amounted to more than 500,000 rubles per day.

A criminal case has been opened; the investigation is ongoing.

Earlier in June in Moscow suspects were detained in the theft of mining equipment worth 3 million rubles.
