In Bali, a Russian crypto blogger had $284,000 in cryptocurrency stolen.

Four unknown men attacked Russian investment blogger Yuri Boytsov, who resides on Bali, and forcibly compelled him to transfer $284,000 in cryptocurrency. The Telegram channel Baza reported this.

According to the victim, a group of unknown men stormed onto his villa and demanded the money allegedly because the blogger had ‘cheated’ someone. When Boytsov refused to transfer the funds voluntarily, the attackers struck him on the head several times, forced him to unlock his phone and hand over his passwords.

A number of transactions triggered additional verification, for which the robbers photographed Yuri with his passport and sent the photo to the support team.

According to Boytsov’s girlfriend, the attackers withdrew all cryptocurrency from their accounts totaling $284,000, and also seized their international passports.

The group provided CCTV footage to the police, and one of the alleged perpetrators was detained. He denies his guilt and says that Boytsov is a fraudster and to blame for everything.

Earlier in May 2022, six people in the UAE attacked a cryptocurrency expert, whose advice led them to lose $30m.
