In Chuvashia, police dismantle a network of illegal gaming salons masquerading as cryptocurrency mining offices.

Special units of the Russian National Guard, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, disrupted the operation of illegal gaming salons in Cheboksary and Novocheboksarsk, which were operating under the guise of ‘cryptocurrency mining offices’, according to the Rosgvardiya website.

During searches, law enforcement seized computers and about 100,000 rubles. In preliminary estimates, the illicit proceeds earned by the organizers amounted to more than 2 million rubles.

A criminal case has been opened, and the investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, the police in Cherepovets closed illegal casinos that operated under the guise of bitcoin exchanges.
