German police seized bitcoins worth €25 million. The funds were linked to the operation of an illegal streaming site, according to CryptoDaily.
The operation was made possible by an investigation conducted by the [simple_tooltip content=’Federal Bureau of Investigation’]ФБР[/simple_tooltip] in the United States.
The two main operators of the site are accused of creating and operating an illegal streaming service. Police say they distributed nearly 900,000 pirated copies of films.
The suspects used advertising revenue on the site and subscription income to buy cryptocurrency since 2012.
Chainalysis identified nearly 900,000 bitcoins linked to illicit activity.
