According to investigators, the suspects went to the victim’s apartment and demanded that all his digital assets be transferred to their account.
The entrepreneur attempted to flee, but the attackers caught up with him, beat him and broke his leg. After that, the man nevertheless sent to their wallets cryptocurrency worth about $28,000.
In addition, the attackers removed documents and valuables from the apartment.
During searches conducted in Kyiv and Cherkasy, law enforcement authorities seized mobile phones, bank cards and money. Also among the belongings of one of the suspects were found about 300 rounds of ammunition for automatic weapons.
The court is weighing the suspects’ pre-trial measures.
Earlier in February, four unknown men attacked a Russian investment blogger based in Bali and forced him to transfer $284,000 in cryptocurrency.
