In Moscow, police detained a suspect over a 6.7-million-ruble mining-equipment scam.

In Moscow, police detained a suspect in fraud and deception of a local resident amounting to 6.7 million rubles. The information was reported by MVD Media.

According to authorities, the suspect posed as a businessman and offered the woman a device for cryptocurrency mining. After taking the money, he promised to deliver the equipment within five weeks, but subsequently stopped responding.

Authorities detained the suspect. It emerged that since 2008 he had been on an international wanted list. During a search, police found three passports under different names bearing the suspect’s photographs.

A criminal case has been opened into fraud.

Earlier in Kemerovo, lost more than 700,000 rubles in an attempt to buy mining equipment.
